I am a therapist with a strong focus on perinatal mental health, multicultural counselling, and the unique challenges related to immigration and the sense of belonging. My educational journey began with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, followed by a Clinical Psychology degree from the University of Salvador in Bahia, Brazil. I furthered my expertise with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Additionally, I have been trained in grief and bereavement, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) intervention strategies, crisis intervention, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). My professional journey has been diverse, encompassing roles that have allowed me to work with individuals across various age groups and backgrounds. Using evidence-based therapeutic techniques, I have supported special needs students in educational settings and offered mental health counselling to police officers and firefighters, focusing on addiction and domestic violence. These roles have deepened my understanding of the complexities of mental health and the importance of tailored empathetic care. In my practice, I employ a humanistic approach, emphasizing empathy, respect, and everyone’s unique experiences.
